The Problem
Because of the construction of my boat, I was concerned that my boat would be seriously weakened if I followed the normal procedure for preparing the boat to have the pods welded on. The boat had two screws (#1) and two rivets (#2) on each side which appear to be holding structural members of the transom in place. In order to prepare the boat to have the pods welded on, these would have had to be removed or ground down. In addition, there were three holes (#3) that had been drilled on the starboard side which would need to be filled before the pods could be welded on.
