A BIT OF HISTORY ABOUT BILL'S
My parents, Bill and Barbara Kuehl, purchased "Bill's Boat Landing" in November of 1976, when it was just a bar and bait shop that sold a few groceries, eggs and our special recipie American fries. Between 1976 and 1995, a dinining room, outdoor patio, and windows facing the river were added.

I worked with my parents, starting at the age of thirteen, doing everything from bussing tables to waitressing. Eventually, I leased the business from Dad and then purchased it before he passed away in 2002.

Mom and Dad made a lot of friends through the business over the years and had lots of good times. Mom was a huge Hawkeye fan and always had the Iowa football team on TV. She would be right up front with her pom-poms whenever they made a touchdown.

Dad was in the front of the house a majority of the time checking every table -- making sure customers were always satisfied and would always ask, "Did you get enough to eat? We don't want anybody to go away hungry!" Dad loved to feed his birds -- Baltimore orioles, Iowa goldfinches and cardinals. In his memory, I still continue to do that and our customers love to come and watch the birds.

I invite you to come and enjoy our food and drinks, the beautiful birds, our wonderful view of the Mississippi, our famous Bloody Mary's, and the kind of hospitality and service I learned from my parents.

Kim
