Lesson Opportunities

Students of all ages and experience are welcome.

Saxophone – Soprano, Alto or Tenor.
Beginner through Advanced.

Students will play with a consistent tone across all registers and with better intonation.

Students will have an accurate sense of time and will be proficient at reading rhythms.

Students will play with sensitivity and emotion.

Guitar – Acoustic, Electric, or Electric Bass
Beginner through Intermediate.

Students will learn to read music and chord charts.

Students will learn the proper hand position and picking techniques.

Students will have an accurate sense of time and will be proficient at reading rhythms.

Students will play with sensitivity and emotion.

Jazz Improvisation – For ANY Instrument
Beginner through Advanced.

Students will learn the history of jazz through aural analysis of standard repertoire.

Students will learn how to play chords, scales, and patterns over standard changes such as the Blues, Rhythm Changes, Autumn Leaves, and more…

Students will learn to improvise with intelligent phrasing and creative melodic ideas while playing with emotion.

Flute and Clarinet
Beginner through Intermediate.

Students will learn basic playing techniques and how to read music.

Students will have an accurate sense of time and will be proficient at reading rhythms.

Saxophone students may study flute or clarinet as a double for jazz band.

Openings are available during the following times:

Mondays 5:00-9:00pm

Tuesdays 4:00-9:00pm

Wednesdays 4:00-9:00pm

Thursdays 4:00-9:00pm

Philosophy of Education

I believe it is the responsibility of the teacher to inspire the student to learn. It is my goal to give my students the tools they will need to be successful musicians and for them to develop a general curiosity towards all things musical.

My students will learn the mechanics of playing their instrument as well as gain knowledge of music theory, history, and expression. Students will learn at their own pace so that each skill learned will provide a solid foundation for the next.

The single and most important requirement of my students is that they make a conscious effort to make weekly improvement. Many parents ask me "How long should she practice?" My response is simple, "Practice as long as it takes to be prepared."

Most of all, I want my students involvement in music to be a positive experience.
